TASKS
- Contact Department of Public Works to ascertain which roads could be restriped "at minimal cost without reductions in current traffic capacity"
- Gather exact method of using federal money earmarked for sustainable projects
- Determine the scope of projects that are within the guidelines of ISTEA-21 (and other funding sources)
- Find out from Jefferson Transit (JET) or RTA what the costs would be to put bike racks on city busses (JET buses are already equipped with bike racks)
- Find out from JET what the usage of bike racks on their busses has been
- Put together binders for street organizing that includes photos of bus stops in other cities, examples of bus schedules that could be posted, petitions encouraging New Orleans/RTA to improve bus stop facilities, sign up sheet for RTA riders that would like to work on projects as members of the Coalition
- Determine the exact definition of "non-attainment area," what happens to cities that are non-attainment areas, and New Orleans' status or imminent status as a non-attainment area
- Find out from RTA if certain stops have "major/minor" status
