GNOGP: Minutes

MINUTES OF GNOGP CC MEETING 8/3/03

1) Endorsement of ACLU "Safe and Free" campaign
- Voted to sign on to this campaign.  Secretary to discuss with ACLU 
rep ways in which GNOGP can actively participate in opposition to 
PATRIOT Act and will report to general membership at next meeting.

2) Newsletter
- John Kearney researched options for publication of a 4-page 
newsletter/broadsheet and presented the following:
     - Option 1: Simmons Press: $192 for 500 issues  
     - Option 2: Xeroxes @ Kinko's: $120 for 500 copies
- Other options discussed by CC members: 
     - 2-page broadsheet, to be used primarily for tabling
     - distribute via mail to members only
     - sell advertising to fund publication of newsletter
     - postpone newsletter, concentrate on producing pushcards
- John Kearney to revise newsletter proposal, initiate discussion on 
proposal among membership via email, present as motion at next 
general membership meeting

3) Pushcards
- Elections Working Group to refine pushcard content, present it at 
next general membership meeting 

4) Elections
- Liaisons between GNOGP, candidates selected:
   - Jennette Ginsburg to liaison with CC Campbell-Rock's campaign
   - Brad Mayeux to liaison with Renee Washington's campaign

5) Green Party of Louisiana Political Action Committee
- Jason to contact GPUS for advice on creating GPL PAC

6) Endorsement of amendments to LA Constitution
- Elections Working Group to evaluate amendments, present 
recommendation at next general meeting

7) Recycle for the Arts request for funding
- Tabled until next general membership meeting
