Minutes from Coordinating Committee Meeting, Sat. June 1 Greeting New Orleans Greens, Present were Evelyn Goss, Art Carpenter, and Bart Everson. I. Coordinating Committee meetings will always be on the first Saturday of every month, open to everyone. II. On March 17th, it was decided that we would give the current office six months, and then would decide whether to stay or move. It has been almost three months, so Bart and Mike Kaplan provided an interim report on the warehouse. Positive Points: maintained office hours of 10-6 on Saturdays, have had several volunteers take part in office hours, cleaned the membership and contact lists, cleaned and organized the office space, filing systems, and literature, picked up trash around the block (an ongoing effort), and organized for a number of events. Negative Points: no running water for the past four weeks, copier does not work, toilet doesn't work, potential for water damage, falling glass hazard, general dirtiness, trouble making rent, far short of staffing goals. These pros and cons will be discussed further at the next general meeting. III. Art Goodtimes, a recently elected county commissioner from Colorado, will be visiting New Orleans July 12-16. We would like for there to be some event(s). There are many options open, like a mid-day rally, an evening social event, or a fundraiser. These will be discussed at the next meeting. IV. Efforts to start a State party are still underway. The next meeting will be Saturday, June 15th, in Alexandria.
