MINUTES: GNOGP Coordinating Committee Meeting
Sun. Nov. 4, 2001

CC Members Present: Malik Rahim, Daniel "DJ" Pate, Art Carpenter, Steve
Godfrey, Jason Neville, John Clark, Antoinette Harrel-Miller

Party Members Present: Bart Everson, Rev. Raymond Brown


ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Antoinette will be speaking Tuesday evening at the University Center
(Hurst Room), Tulane University, 7:00 PM, on African-American genealogy.

First meeting of the (national) Green Alliance will be weekend of Jan.
19 at Loyola.

Two-Day Nonviolence Core Training has been moved to same weekend.


OLD BIZ:

LIVING WAGE:

Work continues on flyer, which should be ready for next general meeting.

CONSTITUTION:

Bart given permission to incorporate CC's comments into new draft to be
submitted to the November general meeting and put to a vote at the
December general meeting.

WEBSITE:

The membership will be asked at the next general meeting to authorize
Bart as the party webmaster.


NEW BIZ:

WALMART:

Jason, Antoinette, Steve, Malik and Rev. Brown will meet to work on a
possible response or alternative to the WalMart component of the St.
Thomas redevelopment.  Time and date of meeting not established.

REV. BROWN SEEKS ENDORSEMENT: 

Rev. Raymond Brown is considering running for mayor and seeks the
endorsement of the GNOGP.  Jason, Steve & DJ will interview Rev. Brown
(Friday 8 PM) and make a report and recommendation to the next general
meeting, where the matter will be put to a vote.

MALIK RAHIM SEEKS ENDORSEMENT: 

Malik Rahim is considering running for city council (at-large) and seeks
the endorsement of the GNOGP.  Jason, Steve & DJ will interview Malik
(Friday) and make a report and recommendation to the next general
meeting, where the matter will be put to a vote.

OTHER CAMPAIGN STUFF:

Bart will produce a list of offices and initiatives on the Feb. ballot
for the next general meeting.
