GNOGP: Minutes

Coordinating Committee Minutes ( 6.17.01)

Greens:

Here are the minutes of the last CC meeting.› They are preceded by a
brief, user-friendly summary.

Attendance: Daniel Pate (member), Steve Godfrey (member), Daisy Berbert
(observer), John Clark (member), Art Carpenter (member), Jason Neville
(member)

**What the CC did:

- we reported on membership, elections, our office and the newsletter
- we sponsored a talk on social/ecological problems by an activist in
  Bangledesh
- we allocated money for the newletter
- we set a time/place for our next general meeting

**Minutes:

Jason reported on the office situation.› He said that the office had
lighting and drywall installed, and that the bathroom was nearly
complete.› Tropical storm Allison had wet some office materials left on
a low-lying surface in an adjacent room.

Steve reported on membership.› He has been calling all 83 members to
confirm contact info , remind them of any pledges, and to get input on
issues that they think are important.› So far, he had made about 18
calls.› Jason had made 3.› John said he would call ex-Delta Greens on
the list.

Jason reported on elections.› The letter to members asking for input on
possible candidates and organizations to contact was sent by Bart.› The
letters to those organizations will be sent the next week.

Jason forwarded information on the newsletter from Tonya.› She said that
it would be six pages, and is waiting on articles about the Marijuana
March, NO-FTAA and Entergy.

John spoke about a friend from Bangledesh, Mujibur Rahmam, who will be
speaking in New Orleans within two weeks on social and ecological
problems in his country.› Since the GP would not meet again during this
time, the CC felt it was appripriate to vote to sponsor this talk.›
There was no objection to the motion.

John also mentioned an event at his home for Bastille Day (July 14th)

Jason asked if there was anyone who would like to help
organize/publicize a visit from San Francisco Green Matt Gonzalez later
this summer.› All members and observers were interested.

Art suggested that a check ($111.52) made out in Tonya's name-- but money
for the GNOGP-- should be left with Tonya as funds for the newsletter.›
There was no objection from the group.

John talked about his idea of an outreach publication for the group.›
Daisy mentioned that she›has a friend who would like to write for it.

The group decided on a time/place for the next General Meeting: July
1st, 7PM @ 7725 Cohn St.› (John Clark's house).› Some members thought
that we didn't need to meet.› Everyone agreed that we shouldn't pay for
a meeting space.
