OCTOBER 4 ELECTIONS REPORT
Candidates spoke about their experiences in the recent electoral
campaign:

LES EVENCHICK
-Les recieved positive coverage of his campaign in the Times-Picayune
-Ten precincts yielded ~19-20% of the vote, showing that a candidate
can yield good results even on a small budget provided that she or he
has strong grassroots support
-Les suggested that GNOGP pushcards should've had short
statements
from each candidate

RENEE WASHINGTON
Renee spoke with a number of people who were sympathetic to Green
issues but who didn't believe the duopolistic electoral process
was a viable route to meaningful change. She found the GNOGP pushcard
to be an effective way of promoting the Greens to these people.

JASON NEVILLE
-Jason's campaign met or surpassed goals in media outreach,
canvassing (6-22 people every weekend for six weeks)
-Didn't meet goal of 12-16% district-wide, but won 40-45% of the
vote in some Bywater-Marigny precincts
-Membership Coordinator to send GNOGP membership materials to
Jason's donors and volunteers. Goal is to increase membership by
25 people.

Colette Tippy (for DAN THOMPSON)
Dan received 9% of the vote. While he didn't receive as much
support in his hometown of Buras as he'd expected, his votes were
more or less evenly distributed throughout the precinct.
