MINUTES OF GNOGP GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING 8/24/03 


I. Reports

ACLU SAFE AND FREE COALITION
Joe Wagner shared the following information on the ACLU's Safe 
and Free Coalition, of which the GNOGP is a member:

o  Objectives 
   1) Passing a New Orleans City Council Resolution which opposes 
some features of the PATRIOT Act 
   2) Raising awareness about the threat to civil liberties
   3) Mounting opposition to the NOPD's proposed video
surveillance program

o  New Breed New Orleans to sponsor event on civil liberties 
(time/place TBA).  GNOGP may table/cosponsor the event.  Motion to be 
put to Coordinating Committee as more details become available.

o  Joe to do the following:
    - Attend Safe and Free Steering Committee meeting on September 9
    - Put together a proposal for a GNOGP-sponsored PATRIOT Act 
workshop

II. Old Business
  
ELECTIONS WORKING GROUP

o Pushcards
     -Membership provided input into final content/format.  Pushcard 
to go to press by the end of this week.

o Green Party of Louisiana Political Action Committee
     -Jason contacted GPUS for info on establishing a PAC and is 
awaiting their reply.  Action on this item tabled to next Elections 
Working Group meeting.  

CHANGES TO MEMBERSHIP FORM

o Jennette Ginsburg made a motion to change the membership form to 
reflect a sliding-scale fee policy.  Motion tabled until after State 
Green party convention.

III.  New Business

o A motion was made to rescind GNOGP endorsement of CC Campbell-
Rock's campaign in light of her decision to run as a Democrat.  
Motion passed 7-3 with one abstention.

IV.  Announcements
