II.  ANNOUNCEMENTS
   **New Orleans Indymedia Video Showing at the ARK, Sun., July 20 at 7pm.
   **Ben reported that Pax Christi recently had its quarterly demonstration
against Star Wars at Stennis.

III.  REPORTS
   **Treasurer's Report:  Current balance of $554.16.

IV.  OLD BUSINESS

   A.  ELECTION OF COORDINATORS:
      **Steve withdrew his nomination as Elections Coordinator.
      **Jennette was elected Membership Coordinator.

   B.  LES EVENCHICK'S CAMPAIGN:  Les spoke briefly about his campaign for
State Representative District 93 and expressed appreciation for the GNOGP
endorsement.  His campaign's three points of emphasis are:  (1) Opposition
to Jackie Clarkson's policies against the homeless and street entertainers;
(2) Entergy's high gas & electric prices; and (3) the war on Iraq.  He then
invited suggestions.  Leenie suggested that his campaign should also
emphasize opposition to cutbacks in the Charity Hospital system.

   C.  STOP CAFTA:  Robert provided background on the Central American Free
Trade Agreement negotiations to be held in NOLA from July 28 through Aug. 1
and urged all Greens to support the STOP CAFTA COALITION'S efforts.  He
especially urged everyone to attend the anti-CAFTA demonstration on Sat.,
July 26, which begins at 2pm at Congo Square.  For more info:

   D.  NEWSLETTER:  John K. has apparently expressed interest in editing a
two-page monthly newsletter.  Art moved:  That John present a newsletter
proposal to the next membership meeting.  Motion passed.  Art will contact
John.

   E.  ROLLING THUNDER REVIEW:  Brad reported that discussions continue
about the possibility of the Rolling Thunder Review coming to NOLA in
coming months.  Brad will keep abreast of this and report back to the next
meeting.

V.  NEW BUSINESS

   A.  GNOGP ROLE IN FALL ELECTIONS:  Discussion about how GNOGP can play
effective role in the Green/Independent campaigns currently underway.  Art
moved:  That we set up an Elections Working Group to coordinate our
intervention in the fall elections.  Motion passed.  Decided that WG's
first meeting will be Tues., July 22 at 4pm at Fair Grinds Coffeehouse.

   B.  GREEN PARTY OF LOUISIANA:  Jason reported 
      ** that GPL convention will be in Baton Rouge in early Sept.
      **and that Malik is representing the GPL at the GPUS conference being
held in Washington, DC.

VI.  NEXT MEETING:  Sun., Aug. 24.  Jennette will facilitate.
