Candidates:

Rev. Brown and Malik Rahim asked the GNOGP to endorse their campaigns
for Mayor and Council At-Large, respectively. Steve, DJ, and Jason met
with the two the previous Friday to ask some questions about their
positions on key issues such as education, environment and affordable
housing. That committee recommended endorsing Malik, but not endorsing
Rev. Brown for Mayor. The committee did suggest endorsing Rev. Brown if
he were to run for a district council seat.

After about 15 minutes of questions to Malik, the group voted
unanimously to endorse his campaign. A volunteer list was circulated and
collected by Jason. A meeting for volunteers was scheduled for Sunday,
November 18th 5PM @ GNOGP office. Call Jason for info 909-2837

Rev. Brown did not show up to the meeting, and we voted unanimously not
to endorse him for mayor.

Group votes unanimously to make green.rox.com the official GNOGP
website, and to have Bart Everson the official webmaster.

Green Alternative Books:

Group unanimously decides to approve $33 for ten books, "The Green
Alternative" to use at tablings and in the office.

Newsletter:

Leora reports on her progress as Newsletter Coordinator. She needs
stuff on Wal-Mart and Malik's campaign. Will accept stuff until 11/13.

Was quoted $300 for 10pg/1000 copies.

Group unanimously empowers Coordinating Committee and Leora to disperse
necessary funds to cover newsletter costs. The CC can also plan a
three-month calendar to be included in the newsletter.

Audubon Park:

Teresa mentions ongoing Audubon Park struggle (saveaudubonpark.org)

Genealogy Research:

African-American Genealogy Connection in helping to preserve the
documents by photocopying records and making a database. This is a
one-day event and she will provide transportation and lunch. A
volunteer list was circulated and collected by Antoinette. 949-1853
